2003 Hammerhead 375 engine problems or not..?

Hello in here

Sorry for my english, I am from Denmark and hope you can help me.

I am about to buy a 2003 Malibu Sportster "barefooter" with the HAMMERHEAD 375 engine.

A friend just told that the HAMMERHEAD 375 engine is a bad choice...because of different engine problems.

Is this JUST TALK or shall I STAY AWAY from this engine...???

It is a one owner boat, with ONLY 138 hours from new. VERY clean boat.

Hope hearing from you soon.

Last four digits is F203

Thanks

I'm the original owner of a 2003 with that engine, not a single issue. I recall the 383 (later Hammerhead model) had issues for some owners, but I would not hesitate buying the 375.

Hi "Ballast Buddy"

Nice to hear that from you...I go for this boat.

Found this today:

Monsoon 350ci 1995-present = 320, 325, 335, 340 & 350 hp depending on the year

Hammerhead 350ci 2001-2004 = 365, 375, 385 hp depending on year

Hammerhead 383ci 2005-2009 = 400hp

Corvette LS1 350ci 2000-2005 = 375hp

Callaway 383 original Corvette boat only, '96-'99 = 400hp

and to really confuse things

Callaway 350ci Hammerhead in 1998 = 365hp

Thanks everybody
