Trailering with Bimini up

MalibuReady

Recommended Posts

I have a 2012 22' MXZ with a Bimini top. I always take it down for trailering which isn't a fun or fast process and it takes up a lot of space when it's down. Can anyone tell me if they've trailered with the Bimini up and if you have, what maximum speed is recommended.

Different setup, but I tow with the bimini up if only driving in town. I always keep it under 40mph when the bimini is up. It is so nice getting to the river and having it up and having one less thing to deal with when you've got a boat full of people

Been towing with mine up since 06....up to 70mph....no ill effects so far.

:plus1: forgot and left mine up on a trip from Charlotte to Lake Sutton in West Virginia.  Got about half way there, stopped for gas and my buddy following me says "you're bimini is holding up well".  Checked it out, all fine, continued there and back with no issues, 75-80 mph.

Thanks for all the replys. Tested on city streets and 45-50mph seems to be max for me. Although I think I could get more if the two front claps that hold the support poles were really tight. I went thru a bit of a dip and the down wind pushed the front half of the Bimini down. Boat didn't come with a Bimini boot so that's next.
