Trouble with replacing damper plate

Recommended Posts

New bell housing and damper plate from Skimdim was installed.  When I started boat up there was a screeching noise that sounded like metal on metal when I engaged transmission.  Also the prop would not turn either

The damper plate exploded putting hole in bell housing.  I thought it was just the damper plate but was thinking maybe transmission went and took out bell housing. Not sure

Are there still bolts in the prop shaft coupler and are they tight ? If the answers to both questions are yes, then, and it pains me to say this, it's back to the shop to figure out where the disconnect is. Good luck.
