What rope/line do you use for your anchors? DEEP stuff...no anchor buddy's here...

I use my anchor buddy locally every chance I get but at the lakes in TN and KY we frequent with depths of 150'-300' that obviously doesn't cut it. I have some cheap/generic anchor line now (3/8" polypropylene jacket covering a mixed synthetic core rope) and it's very stiff and ALWAYS getting tangled and I end up PO'd at it....I'm done with it. Ready to pony up the cash, if needed, to get a few hundred feet of good quality anchor line. Stuff like my dad had growing up...that never seemed to get a knot or get caught on itself when trying to toss out the anchor. Unfortunately that was almost 20 years ago so I have no idea what it was or where he got it.

This seems to have good reviews...but also looks cheap...?   http://www.westmarine.com/buy/seafit--light-duty-anchor-rode-kits--P011875648

This looks like quality....? http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Braided-Nylon-Anchor-Line-1/2-x-200&i=74837

This seems middle of the road....?  http://www.overtons.com/modperl/product/details.cgi?pdesc=Twisted-Nylon-Anchor-Line-3/8-x-100&i=74842

Basically I want a quality product that when put away neatly will be ready to use upon taking it back out...is that too hard to ask for?

I don't know what mine is, but it is just a nylon woven line with 3-4' of chain at the anchor. A good line won't knot or get twisted at least if you keep it wound up correctly. Going into the store and actually feeling how the line is probably best.

I have the anchor line from overtons that you said "this looks like quality?" It is indeed quality, I got the 150' spool and it is great winding up, doesn't twist or tangle, easy to tie knots and holds the knot very well, I think you would be pleased with it. A little costly but you get what you pay for.
