Need Slalom Sking Help...

Alright, here's the deal....my off-side turn sucks. No I mean really sucks. I do mostly free-sking...after my on-side turn (the good one), I pull hard across the wake. As I clear the far side of the wake and change edges, it seems like i'm carrying too much speed and get a ton of slack in the line (almost seems like I'm out pacing the boat by a ton). At any rate, to compensate, I'm leaning WAY back on my ski on the off-side turn....which really screws my pull up heading back across the wake......

Any suggestions?

I'm sure there will be far better skiers than me that will reply as well, but two things come to mind here...

1 - You're pulling to long.

2 - You aren't counter rotating enough. I try to keep the elbow of my free/outside arm back as far as possible to get enough counter rotation.

Agree with Mike. I'm betting you're pulling too long. Off the second wake, you should be letting up and beginning your edge change, but maintaining your outward direction by keeping both elbows in and 2 hands on the rope. Stay bent at the ankles and let your ski flatten out. Bending at the ankles puts weight forward which helps slow your ski down. Counter rotate your upper body as you reach towards the boat in the edge change. At the turn apex, let your center of mass slide to the inside of the turn and forward a bit. You'll turn with a ton of tip in the water and have great angle and acceleration out of the turn.
