Flexible corrugated ballast line vent modification

Recommended Posts

I just finished up correcting a problem with my vent lines for my rear ballast bags, the 1" black line is quite rigid and does not flex well, it was binding up and kinking when bag was full or near full capacity.  I found this 1 1/8" I.D. corrugated flexible bilge line at the hardware store that is durable and looks like it will be perfect.  I attached some pics, will report back after I get some use with it.

Cheers :)

Had the same issue so I went with the 1" clear internal braided line which was fine for this particular application. I see great minds think alike, but instead of bicycle inner tube I went with 1" long sleeves from discarded washing machine drain hose over the Oteger clamp crimps. It was a bit of a fight to get them on, but they are stuck like chuck now! The thicker hose gave me a little better warm and fuzzy feeling. ?
