'01 Response - Replace Throttle Lever

Recommended Posts

Put the boat in yesterday and noticed that there is basically no 'feel' in the throttle lever for going between forward/neutral/reverse.  I started to notice this late last fall but it's now worse.  It works, there is just no feel or lock out going into reverse, but I don't want my wife to drive it until I can get it fixed.

Any recommendation as to what to check, or where I can get a replacement throttle lever/control box?

There is a set screw in the bottom of the throttle lever. Loosen, take it off and inspect the spring that is installed in the back of the throttle arm. Mine was broken in half and mashed together. I replaced and was back up and running in minutes. Easy fix.
