New boat smell - burning? (Raptor 410)

I just turned 14 hours on my new 2016 23 LSV. Everything is working perfectly. No screen issues, no PnP issues, nothing. Ever since new, I get a whiff of a burning like smell typically when I slow down. Since my oil changes were done last weekend, this is the first time I've stressed it with a full ballast + PnP at surf and wake speeds. I definitely smelled it a little more. After my one and only (probably ever) WOT I smelled it again. A little more this time. It goes away quickly and sniffing around I can't tell where it's coming from. So I'm not "concerned", but I thought I would ask to see if it was normal. I'm assuming is paint burning off the engine/cat.

Great boat and it's been flawless so far.

Funny you guys should mention this smell and GM...

I test drove this car just this morning, and I pushed it kinda hard. When we got back to the dealer and got out of the car I was greeted with the same smell.

A lot of times on the new cars and trucks its a stocking decal they put all over the exhaust ....Its annoying that they don't pull off at factory.  They burn off in a few days but its never fun having a salesman take a customer on a test drive and pull up to traffic light and smell and light smoke is coming from under the vehicle!  By the way that SS is sweet ride!

Those don't just pull off, it would add tons of time in the factory for them to pull them off. They are stuck on with a pretty high end adhesive because they contain traceability information.

Have a 2016 23 LSV with 65 hours on it.  In the second season here and still get a slight "skunky" smell on mine too.  The only real time I notice it is when we are surfing, and the rider falls.  I throttle down and turn to pick them up, and that is when we get a whiff of it in the boat.  None of the surfers ever have complained, but with the new surf pipe I wonder if it is behind them.

At first i thought it was just paint burning off of the CATS, but 2nd season and 65 hrs????

I get the same "skunk" smell on my '16 23 LSV.... My uneducated guess is that's what "treated" exhaust smells like?

I started this thread and mine has definitely gone away now, but I also have 150 hours on my '16.  I remember it lasting longer than expected.  I suspect it was just paint burning off.
