Concerns with helm sub 2016 23LSV

Hi Everyone, just got a 2016 23LSV and am leaning towards doing a XS-XXX on an SD2 for the sub at the helm.  Have any of you had any issues with a sub being mounted directly underneath what amounts to a windows PC running these boats / displays?  Any thing getting rattled loose etc?  I know Malibu mounts a factory sub there but for guys that are running higher performing subs (Exile / JL / Wetsounds / etc) have you had any failures or issues that you think might be related to having the sub there?

I just got my 2016 in early march but I have the xs-xxx and sd2 combo and I have had it cranked up a few times... haven't noticed any ill effects up to this point.

If you are concerned with the effects of a high SPL subwoofer under-dash, then orient the woofer and port so that both are direct radiating. Also, the enclosure port tuning and crossover frequency selection will impact the amount of induced vibration. The idea when making bass is to move lots of air in the most efficient manner...and not to unnecessarily excite the boat structure/parts.

My 15 LSV has a ported box with an xs-12 and it hammers. My boat had a xxx in the spot before I purchased it and it was incredible with an sd2 on it

Any particular reason you went with the XS-12 over the XXX?

I already had a ported box designed and tuned for xxx. Just wanted to go two amp setup ( Sd6+Sd2) instead of three. The XS-12 will hit low frequencies in the right ported enclosure.

I know that a 12 " woofer will only move so much air so wanted to save a buck I rolled the dice and I am very pleased with the outcome. Loud, clean and hits low frequencies. At this point I have no plans to add the xxx. But I also know that I love doing junk to the boat so ....

I do need to add that the xxx with sd2 is a final solution. Unless you added another!

Makes sense! I'm sure that XS will still get after it!
