Modifying 2006 23 LSV wakeboard racks to hold surfboards.

Has anyone ever removed the middle fork of a wakeboard rack to hold a thicker surfboard?  What tool was used to cut out the middle fork?

Thanks

Scott

I would remove the rubber padding and use preferably a band saw. You could get away with an angle grinder with a cut-off wheel but you will have more clean-up work to do. you will then need some sort of deburring wheel to smooth out the cut section. Then figure out what to use to pad the new center section of the rack.

Another option is to call Scott at Star One Wake and get replacement surf forks shipped to you. That's the route I took, and it looks OEM.

I went with star ones black coated, love them, I just wish I would of went wake/wake & surf/surf instead of both wake/surf. Talked to scott on the phone and they were in my hand the next day.
