Hit a log....

I was out with the wify skiing last night, when we lost signal on one of the speedo pickups.....I screwed around with it and finally got it to work. So I get up to about 3000 RPM and I'm fooling around with the speedo adjustment to get it to be accurate............and KLUNK KLUNK......look back and right in the prop wash is a log about 3 ft long and 4" in diameter. It missed the speedo pickups, and it doesn't seem to have done any damage. Prop looks okay (no vibration under speed), and nothing on the rudder either......anything else I could have boogered up that I'm not thinking of???

Tracking fins...might not hurt to slide underneath and make sure they're still tight.

Edit: Looks like Blast beat me to it.

What did the log look like? If it had nice clean curved cuts in a series about 3" apart it hit the prop. A single cut or scuff, or a single cut outside the prop cut pattern means you hit the skags. I doubt you could have hit the rudder, the prop would likely keep it away from the rudder.

Sounds like you were lucky, now go buy a powerball ticket!

Now, don't you dare say you didn't pick up that little log to look it over and take it to a dumpster.

Well, I crawled under the trailer and checked the skegs, prop, and rudder.......and found no evidence of damage from the log. Nor were there any marks on the glass. I'm thinking the log was pretty soft from being in the water for a while. I agree, I lucked out this time!!!!!!!!!!

I hit a stick last week. me and my buddy were doing tandem wakeboarding while my other buddys were in the boat driving and all ofsudin the boat starts to vibrate and they stopped the boat and turned it off. we knew for sher it wasn't an engine problem, so me and my buddy dove under the boat and started checkin the fins and the prop, when i check the prop i didn't find any thing but my friend found a chunk of wood that was stuck on it. it was probly about 3" long and about an inch thick, and we found the stick it got ripped off of about 30 yards back.
