Attempt at cleaning fuel pump inlet

Been dealing with noisy whiny fuel pump for the last two seasons. Reading the forum I found I should try cleaning the fuel pump inlet supply. Did that and the problem went away. Though had to pull the fuel line on the lake a few times last season which is not ideal. So yesterday I took out the boat and same story. Noisy fuel pump and no power at all.  Got home and cleaned the inlet and over tightened the brass fitting. Was able to back it out before breaking it off in the fuel pump.  Now I need to find a new one.  Any ideas on sourcing it?  Also I'm looking for ideas on emptying the fuel tank.
