I was 46 and daughters were teenagers.  I've been boating since I was 6, being I grew up on the ocean and bay. Bought my first boat at 14, still have that boat, a 1970.

I pretty much grew up around boats through my extended family from very young... But...

@ 12 - 1996 Learned to ski off a boom on Mastercraft Prostar 190 thanks to the neighbors at a family cabin.  I was hooked on watersports.

@14 - 1998 Convinced my dad to buy an '86 - 16' I/O Chris Craft Scorpion runabout so we had something I could ski behind more often.

@18 - 2002 for my High School graduation present my dad gave me the title to the Chris-Craft.

@19 - 2003 sold the Chris and bought an '88 19' Ski Supreme my first inboard.

@22 - 2006 First Malibu - bought a new dealer demo 2006 Malibu Ride XTI.

@24 - 2008 Switched to a cruiser,  1991 31' Sea Ray Sundancer.

Got married in 2010, 2 kids born in '12 & '14... Now...

@32 - 2016 Back to a Malibu, this Friday were picking up our 2013 24MXZ w/LSA engine and Surf-Gate. Married with 2 kids,  2 and 4 year old boys.

25- bought first vlx (04) last year

No kids, engaged, hopefully no kids in the next 5 years but I don't know if she's going to let that fly lol

The faster you have them the faster they can wakeboard while you still can!

My dad worked 6 days a week when I was a kid, so never really spent any time on the water.  I went to PT school with a girl who grew up on a lake about 45 minutes north of Lexington that taught me to ski on a 74 Ski Natique.  I was hooked.  I graduated college in the fall of '92 and bought my first boat in February of 93.  A POS Glassport 18' I/O.  Went to the bank and borrowed the money for the boat and an engagement ring the same day (no lectures please on the evils of debt-I was young and stupid).  Bought a 2000 Rinker Captiva in 2002.  Had 2 kids at the time.  Bought our Malibu in 2009.  Had 4 kids by then.

Been on the water since 11. First boat was my dad's 1980 Larson Wildfire with 115 Tower of Power. We babied it and skied the heck out of it. Finally sold her last year after I got the bu. She was still an active player on "ski nights" when I sold her. 3 generations of skiers learned behind that boat. We miss her.

45 - 1993 Euro Skier. Lovin it.

Married, kids 11 & 13.

Don't want to date myself, but I'll play! First boat, glastron cvx 16, second boat, nitro fish and ski, third boat, centurion storm series direct drive, fourth boat, 07 vtx malibu. Now hoping to sell my 14 LSV, so I can get a new one. For those who say don't get a boat loan, I have tons of equity now. Boats don't depreciate that bad!

26 - 01'VLX (bought in 04')

35- 14'LSV (bought in 14')

had the boat before kids, so the boat definitely sat around much more during the first few years. Don't let the little ones deter you. Nothing beats the enjoyment they get out of being on the water. (-minus the cheerios between the seats)

She's knows it's in the somewhat near future but she doesn't know details. And I highly doubt she would be perusing through TMC. Haha

Been around boats all my life, parents bought their first boat when I was 6, started  kneeboarding when I was 10 and found wakeboarding when I was 13, but I had to wait till I left the military till I could justify buying my first boat.

27 - '04 wakesetter VLX, single, no kids bought in '13, sold in '14.

28 - '11 wakesetter VLX, still single, still no kids that I know of, bought in '14 and I've still got it.

First boat was an 87 Boston Whaler 13' long with a 40hp motor.  Handed down from my father-in-law

First boat purchased - 2007 vRide bought in 2012 (great looking boat that is for sale ) at the age of 39.  Married with 3 kids ages 10, 12, 14.

Recently bought 2016 T22 and somehow have added 3-9 additional kids when the friends come over.

First boat was a 2007 Response LXi at 37; married, no kids.

Second boat 2016 VLX at 42; still married, with a 2 year old (I claim this boat was for him, since kids these days only want to do wake sports...)

November 2011, 27 years old and married bought a 2004 23 Wakesetter on my wife's 27th birthday.  14 hour road trip to Dallas and back with 3 guys a 5 year old and myself.  (Still not sure why she didn't want to go with us?)  Spent the winter replacing the engine and cleaning it up from the previous owners neglect.

April 2013, daughter was born and had her on the boat at 3 weeks old.  Though never crossed our minds to sell the boat with a baby coming into the mix.  Bottles sit nicely between the valve covers and the exhaust risers and warm nicely there too.  Plan on surfing with her this summer, she will be 3.  Still Married and have the same boat.
