At what age did you buy your first Malibu

Curious at what age people bought their boat at. Also did you have kids at the time or no?

First boat, '86 Kawasaki 550 Jet Ski: 11 (I think I still owe my father money for that thing)

First Malibu, '93 Echelon (well used): 24, no kids, no girlfriend, no commitments!

First new Malibu, '15 23 LSV: 39, wife, 2 kids, mortgage...

27, when I bought the malibu and had a newborn at the time. My daughter has been on the boat since she was 2 weeks old and has loved every minute of it.

35 with a two year old, added another kid a few months after purchase. Having young kids shouldn't deter people from boating. In fact it's a great way to lull them to sleep.

Third Malibu at 36, brand new VLX delivery supposed to be middle of April.

It was 2007, I was 29, the boat was a 1989 Malibu Sunsetter; $7,700. 

Second Malibu, 2012, I was 34, the boat was a 2004 Sunscape LSV 21, $24,000.

I was 24, single with no kids when I bought m first Malibu, it was a '93 Echelon LX.

I was 35, married with a 3 month old son when I bought my second Malibu, it was a '04 Sunscape 21.

I have 2 kids, aged 8 and 5 at the time of purchase. The 'boss' wanted to wait to get a boat until our youngest was reasonably confident in water!

First boat at 24 with no kids

Sold it after 7 years in the fall when kids were baby's after two seasons of very little use

Went 2 seasons without a boat and bought our Malibu when I was 32 and the kids were 3 & 4

First boat 1998 Malibu sportster at 24 (boat was 6 years old) - no kids

Sold it after 10 years and replaced with a new Axis T22 - 2 young kids (2&3)

1st new boat, 15 VLX: 29, married, 18 month old and another on the way

First boat - 16 - 1979 glastron. Rated for a 65 HP max and it had a 115 HP on it! It would do 60 mph +!

Second boat - 17 - 2002 Bayliner Capri with the 135 HP Mercruiser. 

Third boat and current - 30 - 2008 VLX. Loving every second of it! 2 kids/wife. All that good stuff!
