Hi have a 2013 mxz that needs a sub box built but i hear heater cores are in the way a bit. don't mind building out towards the driver a bit to gain cubic ft any pics and info is appreciated... also just bought 4 rev 10 with rgb led setup and dual bracket. looking to pair them with a wet sounds sd2 amp once funds replenish....again speaker install and any info appreciated.

As far as the subwoofer goes, here is how I would proceed. Boats can vary within the same year and model, which is especially true in the case of heaters. I would begin by making my model of the cardboard or posterboard subwoofer enclosure. Make it the maximum size and shape that will fit the space, clear cables and vents, and accommodate the legroom that you are willing or not willing to give up. You can also verify the ease of insertion/removal. From there you have a maximum external displacement which easily converts into a gross internal displacement. From there you have the concise data needed to select a subwoofer size, the best type of loading (whether sealed or bass-reflex), and the subwoofer with the parameters that best match that enclosure. Downsizing the model a bit for whatever final enclosure design you choose is a walk in the park.
