Tower speaker question

Recommended Posts

NCSurfing

For those of you with a G3.2 tower whose boat came with tower speakers, do you know how they are wired? I have 2 pair of rev 8s - a pair on each side on a shelf however, only 2 pair of speaker wires at the amp - is this correct?

That is correct, each side (pair) wired together so one pair per channel instead of one channel per speaker. You could run new wire and separate them if you really wanted to.

Are they wired in series or parallel?

Parallel

Found that out today when I discovered the left side played on one amp the right side on the other (I have a Syn4 per pair)....

With a Rev-8/Syn-4 combo, I would have rewired with the tower, making it a moot point. Each pod would have its one stereo pair.

Right...am thinking I may go ahead and do this. Is the G3 tower difficult to get new wires into? Edited by NCSurfing
