Boost Box or other alternative?

The RF headunit does not turn down the volume enough for my likings, even set on 3. I am looking to add something that will turn it down automatically when I throttle down to pick up a downed rider besides just hitting the mute button. I normally have a XM subscription during the summer for the boat, so phone apps will not work I do not think.

What is the best solution? I saw a few threads from back in 2013, but is there anything new that might work better?

I am using the boost box with my Clarion head unit. Works great. Sometimes (10-20%) I have to power cycle the audio system to get it to work, but then it will work great at least until the next power cycle. I wouldn't ever run without automated volume control now..

Had a boost box in the old boat. It worked great! Only down fall is when you didnt want it on you had to turn it off and then reset it when you wanted it back on.
