340 Monsoon Sump Pan

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I need to replace the sump pan on my 2004 wakesetter VLX.

Does anyone know if a standard 350 chevy sump pan would fit the Indmar Monsoon 340 motors? Main reason is they are much cheaper and was looking to get an alloy pan to prevent corrosion.

We have some overstock Moroso 7 quart winged and baffled oil pans for sale in our e-bay store. These were pans we used on some 5.7 engines that were built for one of our boat builder partners.

Thanks for the link, I ordered one. Will I need a different dip stick to measure the oil level?

Is the pan stainless steel? Also do you know if the welds are hydro tested?

I don't think it is stainless and I do not know about the weld testing. The pan was made by MOROSO, a major supplier to the performance automotive industry. That is all I know about the pedigree.

If you use one these pans, since the drain plug is located on the wrong end of the sump, raise the front of the boat way up while changing oil or maybe half a quart will be left in the pan. If will be more like a quart left in if sucking the oil out through a hose attached to the drain.
