navigation light

I have a 2003 VLX wake setter and the navigation light is not working. I have replaced the bulb and it still did not work. Any ideas of where the problem can be. Fuses are good.

Do you have power at the bulb? Boat wiring is notorious for corosion ruining the connection.

I've had some corrosion issues as well causing a bad connection at the bulb.

Get yourself one of these to see where you are getting 12V power and when not. A cheap and easy to self diagnose!

I'm guessing you are talking about the nav light pole near the transom. They corrode very easily.

Dump that BS and mount a light on the tower. It's a much better way to do it.

The nav light pole should be the highest and most visible light on the boat. Visible all 360 degrees. Coast Guard regs.

Great suggestion and may save someone a ticket or warning.

On an OEM tower equipped boat, I would check where the wires exit the tower base under the gunnels. Most likely a bad crimp or butt connections there if all else is good.
