wake/wake, wake/surf, surf/surf racks

sorry for what may be a dumb question, but I'm adding racks to the tower. I wanted wake/surf, but found surf/surf I like at better prices.

Is there any downside to putting a wakeboard into a surfboard rack as long as it's strapped in?

It may bounce against the other board, same thing that happens when you put 2 wake boards in the factory wake/surf racks.

It shouldn't be a problem. I have wake/surf and often put wakeboards in the surf rack with no hesitation.

I use a pool noodle cut to size with a split on the long edge of the boards so the bumping isn't so bad

Surf boards should not be placed in a rack IMO... Placed in the bimini or in a bag in the bow...

I've got some triple racks that have room for a surf board in the center. The only problem I've had with them is when a wake skate is placed in the center position (because it thicker) along with 2 wakeboards. The skate will slide out because the bungees don't hold it tight enough.
