Video of winterizing 99 Sunsetter LXI

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a video to winterize my 99 Sunsetter LXi. Only video I can find is of a 350 Monsoon Wakesetter w engine in stern. Newer video and different from mine of course. I just really need the visual of my engine, especially draining the block. Fogging, oil change, and adding anti freeze, etc. Any help would be great.

The monsoon engine is pretty easy to do. Basically drain all hoses on the front of the engine, pull the impeller and store for the winter. Then there is a knock sensor you drain on the starboard side of the engine and a drain plug on the opposite side. Also there is a crossover hose on the back of the manifolds, you remove to drain the water from the manifolds. somebody else will chime in will anything i forgot. I don't use antifreeze, because if there isn't any water in the block or hoses, there is nothing to freeze.

Thanks for response. Reason why I'm asking for a visual is this is my 1st inboard and all you explained in words doesn't resonate w me as far as which hoses, where the impeller is, what and where the knock sensor is,etc. I was also told about fogging the engine and I have no idea where to start.

Maybe the previous owner, or dealer could walk you thru it ?

Again thanks for responding. I find it hard believe there isn't a video out there. I have even checked YouTube, to no avail.

If you're unsure, take to a dealer / mechanic and get it done. It's an expensive gamble if you're clueless about what to do.
