Extended Warranty

i apologize if this is not in the right forum, but a quick question here.

i own a 2013 20ft mxx and the 3 year warranty is coming to end, i talked to my dealer about getting and extended warranty, and they said Malibu does not offer extended warranty. Any thoughts on this? is there another way i can extend warranty? Any past experiences with this sort of issue?

Thanks friends.

upper,

This extended warranty question always starts an interesting discussion on this forum.

I also have a 2013 20 MXZ and I bought an extended warranty at the time that I purchased the boat from the dealer. It's with Protective Asset Protection - Premium Marine Protection for Ski Boats. It will add 3 years to fix items on the boat after the Malibu warranty runs out. There are expensive parts on these boats. It cost me $2,600. Is it worth it, don't know yet, only time will tell?

I did buy extended warranties on the two SUV's we have in our family and those warranties have been well worth it, they have paid for themselves and much more. But our SUV's are used differently and much more than my boat. I only have 50 hours on the boat after 1 1/2 seasons with it.

I don't buy extended warranties on other household items like TV,s etc..

It's a personal decision of trying to assess risks and costs like any insurance policy.
