I used the metal paste method last summer. Make it clean by removing paint and dirt, put the metal paste on it and let it dry. Paint it black. Very easy.

I asked a few aluminum welders to repair this but they were all concerned to make it even worse. The manifolds are quite thin. It is possible when trying to weld it that you make the hole even bigger.

Had both sides welded without any issues, for aluminum welding you need to find a great welder not a good welder. The manifold is at less a 1/4" thick and the casting port plug that is welded in during is about 1/16". Two other boats on our lake have had the same.e issue and welding has worked fine, local dealers recommend welding along with Indmar.

Picture of the plug you can get from Indmar, about $1.50
