Sorry to be the naysayer. I'll give you it made a lot of noise...and smoke, lots of smoke.

First, why was the boat porpoising on glass water? That's what made it seem like it was actually doing something. It might have been going 40. Maybe.

It wont be long until an electric boat smokes something like that. When I say long, I'm thinking less than 10 years. It will be next to silent, twice as fast and twice the torque.

Rant over, ha.

It might have only went 40....but it got there in about 2 seconds

That wasn't porpoising, it was chine walking. Much worse. He may need taller gears and a smaller prop.

And I'm sure he didn't hit 70 with it, or the spray would rise up and shear behind the boat.

Nice smoke, too. Billowing.
