Propeller Pitting

Noticed pitting on the front face of the propeller blades. Looks like pitting caused by cavitation. Anyone else run into this? I blame this on my family for only wanting to surf.

How Many hours? Havre you asked/Talked to Acme. I have over 700 hours on the prop I have on my boat over the past two years and other than some darker discoloring over entire prop, no other issues noted. It looks like it could be metallurgy por maybe just bad spots in the prop. If it was cavitation, would it not be in larger areas and more consistent overall than just in those little spots?

Which side of the prop is this on? I won't confuse you with "back" and "face" since everyone gets it backwards...so is it the side that faces forward or aft?

Back side is towards the bow isnt it? Its the side facing towards the strut anyways. Lots of those marks on the back side of all blades. None on the face though.

Seems like If your prop is cavatating, you have 2 problems. I can count the number of times mine has cavatated on one hand.

I think I'd call the prop manufacturer. Or maybe Skidim?

I noticed a few of the same things a couple years ago on mine. Sent pics to Acme, and they replied: "... we took a look at it; you have absolutely no worries in running the propeller. They appear to be minor inclusions from the casting. It will not affect performance of the boat or longevity of the prop."
