Hey, any Texans know LBJ? We're heading there this weekend for the first time with the boat. Renting a house and spending the long weekend. Any tips? Places to go or avoid? The house we are renting is up on the Colorado arm.

Hopefully it's late enough in season to not be crowded...it's all seawalls so with any traffic it's a mess.

Just don't go past any of the hazard bouys, they go across the river making it obvious not go go beyond that point

It's a great lake during the week. Weekends in the Summer are a mess. I've had more close calls there than any other lake, mostly with pontoons and the sightseers. You'll be better off now that it's getting less crowded since school started. The river is the best place to ride but you get a lot of wake rebound due to the seawalls. Watch for fishing tournaments up river. Best to catch a local and ask where the submerged rocks are in the lake or way up river. Lots of great rentals up that way. We used to have Mini Texas WOW's down there.
