Proactive Change Sensors?

My boat has just finished its 15th season, so I figured to do some proactive maintenance to avoid issues. I'm replacing water hoses, serpentine belt, thermostat and fuel lines, (along with the usual plugs, impeller, filters, fluids, (cap and rotor was 2 years ago)).

Question: Do you think there is any justification to replace oil pressure and water temp sensors? What about anti-knock, oxygen and others?

I don't want to change things needlessly, any other suggestions welcome, just trying to avoid disruptions down the road.

I don't think your engine has oxygen sensors.

If it were me, I'd replace the spark plug wires before I did a proactive sensor swap out, assuming the wires are original. I put an ohm meter to a 10 year old set of factory wires and the results were stunning compared to a new set.

I'd do the oil pressure sensor, and replace the connecter on the end of the wire if it looks even slightly corroded. That is the only issue I have had with my 03.

Plus 1 on the plug wires, if you wern't planning on doing those anyway.

It takes about 30 seconds to swap out an oil pressure sensor, plus when they go bad, the only consequence is a beeping noise coming from the dash. I would wait until it craps out before you replace it. Maybe pick up a replacement and keep it in a safe spot until needed. "If it aint broke, dont fix it"....

I would give the exhaust system a very good look, particularly at the exhaust manifold and riser gaskets. When you have the water hoses off & tstat out, give a good look inside for any signs of corrosion buildup.

I forgot to say that I changed the wires with the cap and rotor, so good there.

Where exactly is the temp sensor? I think I recall three different things with wires plugged into them at the back, (front) of the engine on the intake manifold near the thermostat. What I think is the temp sensor has a locking waterproof plug attached to it (but I could be wrong, could be some other sensor).

Your Monsoon has two temp sensors. One feeds the ECM and is used for the phased warm-up as well as to sound the overtemp alarm. The other feeds info to the gauge on your dash.

Both of them are located on the upper front of your engine, right near the thermostat.

RTS, are they the same part? (Look the same?)
