2003 21 XTI - Need help troubleshooting boat shutting down while moving

Recommended Posts

Well, my parents and I took the boat out Friday for a little cruise and ended up getting stranded. Basically, we were cruising along when the boat just shut down out of the blue. I've got 3 new batteries on the boat and am able to get it to crank, it just won't start.

The previous owner bypassed the kill switch, but I still need to check and confirm that the connection they made to bypass the kill switch didn't work itself lose.

The gauges do show that the battery is low, but I'm not sure the gauges are actually coming on.

I've also seen in other threads that the ICM could be the issue; however, I'm not sure I know where the ICM is located.....can someone please chime in with the answer.

Going to run through all the wires and connections this evening but if you've had a similar issue, I'd appreciate your input!

Thanks,

Michael

I will bet money it's the kill switch!

I'll look at the kill switch closer tonight but the gauges do work and the switch was bypassed.

I pulled a plug and I'm not getting a spark. I have 3 batteries that I put on a trickle charger last night.

Can someone please tell me where the ICM is located?

Michael
