Sharp skeggs

Ok, so I like feeling my boats skegs. Wanna make something out of it? Huh? Huh? I got ya! Yea!

Ha ha lol. I'm just kidding but yea. I was checking things out down there just cause I wanted to pretty much map the bottom out in my mind in case of damage. I checked to see if there was any looseness and let go pretty quick.

I'm not sure if they are gorilla fins. They are the stock fins that Malibu put on that year. It has two of them. Sharp no doubt on the trailing side but more dull and rounded on the leading side.

A good hydrofoil tune will have a duller leading edge and a very sharp trailing edge. I am no hydrodynamic-ologist, but it helps the wings to fly smoother that way. I suspect the principle is also true for the tracking fins. That may be part of the reason your boat feels so buttery smooth when cruising across the lake on a windless day. I have to think you are exaggerating with the 'razor sharp' comparison. Now the wings on my foil are what are called 'razor sharp'.

Hmmmm, gonna be debating that with you in a couple weeks. Mack showed us how to dull the front & rear edges of the t-bar to make them not glitch, especially coming across the prop wash.

I can't say that I've ever been under my boat enough to be able to touch the Gorilla fins.

Looking forward to learning more! Going to be a great time for sure.
