Check Valve and PNP

In my system where the bags are plumbed seperate from the hard tank I have a check valve as close to the bag as possible. it keeps the bag from getting air in it while draining which allows the pump to stay primed for a more complete drain. Not sure how that would work with a hard tank because air needs to be able to get into the hard tanks when they drain.

Why put the valve close to the bag? I'm installing a system in the next week or so. Was going to tuck them up under the gunnel.

if they are closer to the bag the water on top of the check valve will help seal it better.
