SPN 65597 Warning Service required

Recommended Posts

Jason63

My new 2013 VTX is throwing the code Warning Service Required SPN 65597 FMI 7. I see lots of posts on various warnings but dont know how to locate what this code is. Boat runs fine--just alarm every few minutes. Not used to these new boats --I'm old school as old boat was a 95.

Thanks for any help--I just got this boat and want to use it!!! NOT take it in.

Thanks shawndoggy. I did find the manual. Now how do I clear the code??? I see some info on a hand held scan tool. Is that the only way and which scan tool. I 'll get one if needed as I do not like taking boat or any vehicle in to the shop.

Much appreciated!!

First you need to fix the problem. It is telling you that you have a bad plug, wire or cap.

Yes sir. I'm new to these new boats. What I have read on here is when fixed the code should go away after 3 warm up- cool down cycles unlike a car which you have to clear the code with a code reader. Will be working on it later today. Thx!!!

if you go into setup on maliview there are active codes and inactive codes. I believe the active ones are the ones that are, you know, active. So if the boat is still throwing the code/warning message while running, the problem still exists. If it's not throwing the code, then I believe it will eventually go to the inactive list? To "clear" the codes completely it's my understanding you need to plug in a diacom.
