Front Lamps Always On

Recommended Posts

Hi all, I am a new Malibu owner (2000 Escape LSV 23) and the previous owner had a 3 battery setup with perko switch (batteries up under spotter seat and perko just under port stern cover). My question is it seems that whenever the batteries are switched to "on" (1,2 or all), the lamps on the "underside" of the bow come on (regardless of switches or ignition). Is this normal or should these lamps (I apologize as I'm not sure what they are called exactly) only be on when a particular switch is set to on?

Should be a switch on the dash for the docking lights. Sounds like they are hardwired to the battery switch, which is not a good situation. Start by looking through your switches on the dash, If you can't identify an issue there, like a switch that doesn't seem to do anything, then its time to trace wires from the lights themselves, figure out where they are getting power, and re-route them to a switch.

Thanks for the advice. Got in touch with the previous owner (very helpful) and there is an unlabled toggle switch just under the throttle area (near the 12V power port). Thank you again.
