I'm drinking hand ambidextrous... lol

Iced that thing up, watched the Auburn game, and pounded a couple with my left hand. ha

Sometimes folks aren't as ambidextrous when it comes to ridding one's self of beverages.

oh btw, my son needs some help landing his backroll (begins about 0:40). Any tips?

Do you guys have a trampoline? Best cross training off water and they can do it a lot. I put a 12' pole in with a handle and rope, they really can yank on it and practice rolls and tantrums, plus it's just fun to bounce on and good excercise.

He looks very close to landing it, how fast are you towing him and what line length? Coaches at wcc recommended 18 mph at 45' with biggest wake possible you can achieve on jump side, even filling up bag up in locker to increase wake size.

I like that idea. Maybe even further down than 18, like 16-17.

Just a big, rampy, sacked out, slow moving wake - get the rotation, form and balance part on the landing out of the way without getting brain rinsed every fall.

While I agree that slower speed and shorter rope length make it easier to learn that's not what's stopping him. He is just not spotting his landing so he is over rotating. Pulling the rope to his left hip just makes beginners start to spin. If he just extends his arms out once he comes around he will stop his rotation. Trick is to still keep the handle low while extending your arms to avoid catching the toe edge. This is how I learned anyways.

we don't have a tramp, though he'd love one.

That vid is @ 20.5, half ballast, 65'. We'll try a little slower and shorter next time.

According to him none of the falls hurt. They'd land me in the hospital.

I picked up one at Sam's Club for $265, it's a 15'er... plenty of room to practice. For the price it's well made and works great. Just something to consider if you decide to pick one up. Those falls look painful, oh to be 15 again! Good luck to him, he is very close to landing one, that is so awesome!

Ended up being a great weekend for us. Don't have any pics but we all managed to get multiple surf sets in all 3 days before the lake became an ocean from boat traffic. Our neighbor's 16 y/o nailed her 3 on the surfboard for the first time. Spent the afternoons snacking and boozing on the deck and the docks with towns and neighbors since it was too rough to play. Now, on to the best water of the year!!!!
