***Bad MTC Power Button 2015 Models***

Recommended Posts

I was having some serious issues with my command center not coming on, not going off, locking up, touch not working, one screen working one screen not working, etc. At first I thought it was an issue with how I was operating, powering up, battery switch, etc. until one day I hit a pretty good wake and the entire boat shutdown, motor, command center, everything. I called my local dealer and he immediately said bring it in it's the power button for the command center, they have had quite a few issues with this button. They replaced the button and I have been on four outings since then with no issues at all.

What was happening was the power button was not making good contact so the command center would lose power for a fraction of a second but if you think about a computer being powered on and off this quick and what it can do to programs and operating systems, it could wreak havoc on your entire MTC.

If you have the February update to the firmware and you are having issues similar to this I would recommend replacing the power button for the command center.

Can you post a pic of the power button for reference?

Is this the main blue power button used on many older models or does the 2015 model have a unique new main power button

I'm not sure why it has to be so difficult to figure out how to post a picture but I don't have time to navigate that right now, sorry. It's on the 2015 models only, as far as what my dealer is telling me. Below the 7" screen on the right there are two push buttons below the screen, the one on the right is "start" and the one on the left is the "power" button which powers the MTC and computer.
