06 VLX Ballest information screen not working

Recommended Posts

Hi all

First time posting a question

I have a 06 vlx with the 340 monsoon. I chromed my gauge cluster shroud which was fine and plugged all the gauges back together and tested.

This is where the electronic gauge displaying the ballast tanks and speed control did not display any information.

I have power to the unit and it lights up when the dash lights are on and I have earth there as well.

So then I sent the unit off to get tested and on another boat it displayed information straight away.

I have cleaned the terminals and still it isn’t working.

Does the green and red wire send the data from the computer to the display?

And if so how do I get it tested.

Anyone Please help if you can. Thank you as I’m going around the bend.

It sounds to me like you have a connector that is not yet connected. Check all connections at both ends. You most likely have more than two wires feeding the information to the screen. If you believe the wiring harness to be bad you can read the wires with a multi meter to check continuity. This is where things get kind of frustrating. Good luck.
