Virgina Boating license?

Isn't the title of this thread about boating in Virginia?

A liscense IS required in VA.

If you are a VA resident, or have a VA registered boat, or plan to operate in VA for 90 days or more, or if your home state requires a license.

Covered that a while back, with a link to the rules.

Since Colorado does not require boaters safety for the idiots I think I am going to start packing frozen paintballs. maybe a few shots to the neck will get the jet skis away from my riders!

Yes that was the title of the thread but I was asking if I needed to get one to boat on Virginia lakes. According to the laws I do not need one because Maine, the state the boat is registered in doesn't require it. I was just trying to do my homework and save a ticket or some time. I'm all for a boat license if its actually something worth taking, when its just an online course that people can take and pass while sitting in a bar drinking, its just foolish and the state trying to get money.

The course I mentioned earlier for commercial stuff is a person to person class done on the water all day, more along the lines of what I think it should be. They have ATV courses in Maine that are the same, its a couple hour deal that goes over the laws and has an obstacle course you ride over and are coached how to do it.

A flare gun works better. They figure it out much quicker when they can see where the shot came from.
