Engine won't turn off

Think I have a short some where only way to kill engine is to unplug the harness to the coil,nether key or the kill switch will turn it off,have power to the ignition wires with key off (even unhooked from the key switch) can pull the kill switch and nothing!!

When I hook the battery up the fuel pump kicks on like the key is on and everything on the motor is hot alt the purple wire to the coil everything I'm lost now any ideas?

Bad kill switch? Easy to test, just remove all the wires on the back of it & put them together. Ignition switches are also a fairly common point of failure.

I'll try the kill switch but wouldn't that be more of a not getting power to the motor?

And for the key switch I can unhook the wires that go to the ignition terminal and the still hot unhooked,if I pull the kill swith they lose power at the key but not back at the motor?(sorry when I said If I pull the kill switch nothing I meant not shutting down the engine)
