New Tow Vehicle

Depends on tow capacity, past models could barely tow a bass boat...

True with the old body style, but the current body style SRT can tow over 7000 pounds. Been that way for several years.

I talked to the owner of a 2014 SRT towing about a 26' cat go-fast over the weekend. He was very happy with it's towing capability. I've thought about picking one up myself, but they seem to hold their value very well, and even though I am a MOPAR fan, I just can't bring myself to spend that type of money on a Jeep.

the transmission they are going to have to put in that thing is going to be MASSIVE!!

I can't wait.

That's been the biggest problem in testing the Jeep - they don't make an AWD tranny and xcase combo that can handle the power output. (Which, in my estimation, is the transfer case because the gear box has proven it can handle a lot of power.) I don't know what the final solution will be but I know the possibility of a RWD only Jeep is/was on the table.

We had one of the first Grand Cherokee Lorados with a 4.0 inline six. Nice vehicle, but, 0-60 was not in it's lexicon. So 3.whatever is crazy fast in anyone's book.

4.0l was never quick, but built like a tractor engine and runs forever as long as you keep replacing whatever fluids are leaking out of it ;)

My wife has grand Cherokee with eco diesel. I absolutely love it, i have pulled the boat with it a couple times, short distances. Not the greatest experience! The hell cat version would be a blast to drive though. I drive the 3.6l pentastar version as my daily driver. Gutless wonder it is! The 3.0 Eco is way better, The SRT Would be awesome.
