Malibu center windshield question

Stop turning them counter clockwise ;) I can't count the number of times I had to tell the wife and kids that if you only turn them clockwise you never have a problem. (This was an issue on all 3 of our boats)

I feel better now, I thought I was the only one who says this!

The 15's have a rivet instead of a screw which I thought was a better idea. But now one of my latches is getting very loose and I'm not sure how they are going to tighten it back up. That entire plastic latch system imo screams cheapness. You think they could have come up with a better latch mech by now...like a stainless latch or something more stout.

If it was stainless, imagine the damage when the thing blows shut and the stainless latch hits the frame. I think the plastic is a feature.

If I thought I get into the frame w/o destroying the frame or the glass I was thinking about pulling that part of the frame and replacing the sheet metal screws with a threaded screw and a nyloc of some sort. I doubt there is any room between the glass and the frame to do it though and working with glass typically has 2nd and 3rd order effects. The first 2nd order effect being my wife jumping on me like a spider monkey telling me "if it wasn't broke...." :)

For all of you guys that leave them open, do you all have tower mirrors? My mirror came pre-installed on the center frame and I really like having a mirror when driving.

PTM clamp and CIPA mirror. The old mirror is collecting dust and the mount is now a hand hold for opening and closing the $223.00 piece of glass without dropping it!
