Any recommendations on spare tire mount options. I tried to pick up a heavy duty one from farm fleet and it wasnt wide enough to get around my 2006 trailer.

Have a Boatmate?

Most of the generic stuff you can buy is junk and won't hold up to a heavy tire. I had 2 of the generic bolt on types fail at the welds on my last trailer and those tires were smaller/lighter than what is on my boatmate.

This one is similar to one of the junk generic ones that fell apart for me

I was looking at the generic ones and I agree not the best quality stuff. However, tracking down a quality one locally on a time crunch has proved to be quite the challenge!

In a time crunch, the spare rides pretty nice on the floor of the boat ;) If it were me I'd just weld one on myself like the factory spare carrier, not a huge fan of anything that just bolts on. Local trailer shop should be able to set you up.

I made my own using a stub axle & some flat plate. Bolts onto the drawbar. Works great & is strong as. Doubles as a fifth wheel if you need to roll the trailer around. But the best reason for it is I have a complete spare hub & bearings if I ever happen to fail a set on the trailer. Heres a photo whilst I was painting it. Will post photos of it mounted soon.
