A neighbor of mine has an interesting idea to build the surf wake on a boat. Check it out.

interesting, how much weight is in the bag?

I can't imagine, regardless of the amount of weight in the bag, that the pylon was created for that much force in that direction unless it was reinforced.

That's the contraption I was asking about in another thread. At least one just like it was out a couple years ago

Checked the website, no prices. Any idea how much? And like NCVride says, is that gonna rip my pylon off???

How much force is put on a pylon when a skier is running the course? Not sure if the direction is comparable though.

I guess it has 150 lbs of ballast on it. Which is far less stress than someone towing a tube. He said the boats are designed for up to 1100 lbs at the pylon.

150 lbs cantilevered out on the end of a pole applies more force than 150 lbs. Then there's the dynamic force caused by going over waves.

This thing reminds me of those add on surf-gates that apply side forces to the swim pad, it wasn't designed to be loaded like that.
