I actually own a VLX 2014. And I wish to have higher draft. (Big lake and sometimes can be catch by the storm) Only problem is that my mooring is too tight in order to fit the new 22 VLX.

So the only possibility for me will be a MXZ20. (Please be nice mxz haters lol)

90% of the time, we are wakesurfing and 10% is for wake boarding.

I have kids and they love to sit in the bow, so mxz is a great value for that I think. and we are usually cruising with 2 adults and 2 kids or 4 adults and 2 kids so size should be fine as well.

But how wil look the wave compare to my VLX ?

Of course the boat is smaller, but almost the same weight, you could have a lot of ballast in it, and if I order a new one it will come with the power wedge 2 which I expect it should make a difference as well.

Do you think we can get a great wake from the mxz or I will be disappointed ? Knowing that I m around 210lbs.

Thanks guys.

we have a 2013 mxz

surf every weekend - like 10 hours on the water

shawndoggy is correct about water over the bow

but the wake is great

very steep

lots of push

not as long as some of the newer boats

but we surf 260 lb folks with a 5'0 indyllwood surfboard

if you want better rough water performance I think the 20 MXZ (and pickleforks generally) would be disappointing. They take water over the bow easier.

Seriously ? Because it is 10cm higher Thant the VLX. Seems odd it take water easier.

There is a lot of extra glass up front, which is why it weighs as much as your VLX.

Make sense.

So my best choice will be to keep my current boat, correct ?

I've always wondered but never ask so I will now. Whenever I see a20's and mxz20 and 22s they are loaded with 3-4 people in the front and not close to taking water over the bow at idle or not moving.

In my vtx it seems like you put one person up there and it's like you gotta watch it. Might just be mine and their driving as I've never been in a pickle fork.
