2001 Sunsetter VLX with Wedge, 2 batteries, box anchor, regular anchor 15 lifevests, 4 intertubes, empty cooler, a few boards, ropes and other misc. and 1/3 tank of gas is 4400lbs unhooked from the truck. Published dry weight is 2800lbs.  I have since added amp, tower speakers, subwoofer and some other odds and ends so with a full tank of fuel (35gal) I suspect the total weight to be very close to 5000lbs. Tongue Weight is 375 lbs at the ball. My Ram 3500 doesn't know it is back there.

That's probably pretty damn close on the published dry weight in that case.

Here is an example of how to convert Jack weight to tongue weight.  I filled in generic numbers for the example, yours will vary.

So with CL of tandems to jack being 14.83 ft and CL of axles to tongue being 18.5 ft with jack weight of 1000 lb, tongue weight should be 801.62 right?

Boat is 2009 23 LSV

Limited gear, full tank of fuel. 

Posted weight is 3,500 pounds.

CAT scale registered 6,300 pounds with tandem trailer. 

Dollied down trailer on the scale, so not confident in the front axle (tongue weight) as it says 840 pounds.

Those numbers look about right.  I thought the  weight  of a 2009 23 LSV would be greater than 3500 lbs though.

Me too since i think that's what the claim a 2012 vtx weighs.  This says 3900 https://www.wakeboardingmag.com/blog/boats/2009/09/10/malibu-wakesetter-23-lsv-2009

Surprised at the weights, even those that are scaled.

I weighed my 2014 LSV with LS3, tandem trailer, and probably less than 1/4 tank of fuel before I bought it.  6060 pounds.  Given that, I would assume that with a full tank of fuel, 300 pounds of lead, and my gear I am somewhere near 7000 pounds (which is also the GVWR of my BoatMate).

My 18 LSV Truck is top # 5920 lb Trailer jack is 2nd # 1000 lb, Boat tandems 3rd # 6240 lb. My boat full of gas and gear plus beer = 7,240lb. Each of these were on their own weight table as the scale has 3 separate areas. Yes the printer was out of whack and printing everything higher than supposed to.

Guess we have gained some weight in the last 9 years.

Probably these new micro brew beers. That's where the difference is. They have more alcohol, thus more weight. 😂

Looks like he has tandem from some other pics he posted. Pretty much tells me my calculated weight on my 01 ssvlx single axel is pretty spot on. I calculated just a bit less than his measured.

2010 23LSV on 2018 Malibu tandem axle trailer  

Full tank of gas, minimal gear

boat + trailer = 6,500

Tongue weight was 660 (included in the 6,500)
