2007 Extreme Bearing Buddy Bra

I've had my 07 for a few weeks now and love everything about it.

The previous owner had the trailer converted from oil bath to a bearing buddy system. I noticed Monday night one of the wheels had grease spewed all around it, on my wheels I dont have a bearing buddy bra since it has a center cone that i think inhibits it from fittig properly.

My question, anyone else running a bearing buddy setup on their 07? Do you use the bra? Do you need the bra?

I ended up checking all the bearing buddies and they were all very low on grease, so I gave them all a few pumps to that the piston bulged out about 1/8 inch.

Any insight/advice would be appreciated!

I've converted one of mine to a bearing buddy. I just run it without the center cone. I'd rather have the bra keep the grease from spewing all over than have the center cone.

Is the fact that one spewed grease everywhere a sign that I need to replace it?

Not if it spewed on the outside. It lets grease leak out and it flings around as you drive down the road. The bra keeps the flinging from happening. If you notice a bunch of grease on the inside of the hub then you may have a leaky seal.

May want to take a look at how much heat generated overall depending on how much grease is flung.. There may be some grease flung out, but shouldn't be that much.

I know from experience that if you have a brake or actuator hang a little, the hub can get pretty hot, turn the grease to liquid make a real mess of your wheels, tires, side of the boat, etc. In that case, the covers don't help all that much.

I have a 2005 extreme trailer I had converted to bearing buddies with 14" wheels. I have a spare pack of bearing buddies and the part number says 1980. Hope this helps.
