03 VLX at 5700' ….. which prop?

Recently purchased an '03 VLX (335 Monsoon). My local lakes are at 5700' or higher. After researching and deciding on either an ACME 1235 or 2079, i came across a great deal on a 2247. (15 x 14.25)

My concerns are;

Is the 15" prop too big? Gelcoat damage?

Too much prop for the motor i have? (335 Monsoon)

I only surf & wakeboard with the boat. I run approx 1800lbs ballast plus the wedge when surfing and 4-6 people.

Thanks in advance.

I have a 2004 VLX with an ACME 1235. I'm by no means a prop expert but the 1235 has suited me just fine. We only wakeboard and surf, no skiing. Sometimes we run a lot of weight and have had no problems so far (knock on wood). I have an 1100 lbs bag in each locker plus the center tank, and usually a bunch of buddies sitting in the bow. The bags are only filled completely for surfing. I've been running this setup for about 3 years now.

Oh, and I also live in Utah. The Wasatch Front to be exact.

Thanks Tims & CamMan, I appreciate the input! Sounds like the 1235 will be the best option for my boat...

CamMan, I'm on the Wasatch back :) …. Heber City.
