People bumping the stereo remote controller.

I have a 2012 22 MXZ which has the stereo remote located right in the middle of the transom (between the rear flip up seats) which people inadvertantly bump all the time when boarding the boat or while putting on your wakeboard. This causes the stereo to either turn off, mute, or change modes depending on which button accidentally gets pushed. Is there a way to lock/unlock the remote? I was thinking about fabricating a piece of plexiglas that is on a hinge to prevent this from happening but still allow a person to use the remote if needed. Has anyone found a better way?

I disabled mine in our previous '12 VLX for that very reason. The new ones in the new boats at least are better in that they are actual buttons that have to be pressed. I wonder if you could swap one of the new ones out for the old one?

I don't have a photo with me at work, but I have switches to shutoff any of our remotes if needed... I haven't used them yet since ours have a less problematic location, but it is an option.
