Modify non Z5 Bimini to hold surfboards

Just curious if anyone has added straps or flaps to hold surfboards on their non-Z5 bimini?

Looking our current setup with the old Illusion tower, I think there is plenty of support with the two tower bars in the middle taking most all the weight/force of the boards.... just needs a way to secure them so they don't fly away. Anyone ever done this / attempted this with good or bad results?

My thoughts were either have a front "pouch" sewn in for the nose and strap at the rear to hold them in, or just two straps that could be tightened down as needed.

Thoughts?

Go with a mesh like material. Pockets will flap in the wind when you do not have boards in there. Bring boards and bimini to fabric shop so they can sew in according to your board sizes. Elastic is also a good idea on the edges so other boards may fit later on,
