DIY Gate Advice Needed - Goofy vs Regular Wave

So we completed a DIY gate for the boat last week and went out on the water to test it. Boat is a 2006 VLX. Base setup is a listed wave with MLS (Starboard tank full, port tank empty, midship and bow full), no wedge (power wedge is stuck in the up position), and no additional ballast. Surfgate wave is the same setup with both rear tanks full. Here is examples of each:

In my opinion its a great success, at least on the goofy side. But check out the regular side with the surfgate (same setup as goofy surf gate, except I am in the boat and my buddy who is about 30 lbs heavier than me is riding):

It looks like that side the wave is much shorter (although much cleaner than it was before).... Is there a reason for this? Is it the direction of the prop wash?

Now that we have our gates done, what should be our next step? Fixed wedge? More weight?

Not sure I embedded those videos correctly?

Its a pretty simple design very similar to a lot of the others that have been posted (traced the hull pattern, using a turn buckle and ratchet strap, etc.). I will get some pictures of it when I get a chance. The only issue we have found so far is trouble with the unit wanting to rotate around the eye bolt when slowing down, I think we are going to add a second bolt to prevent that.

Maybe this is in the wrong sub forum? Maybe it should be in watersports and gear?

Also we tried to do a listed wave on the regular side as well to see if that would help any, didn't really see a noticeable difference between surfgate wave and listed surfgate wave.
