Has anyone tried this surfgate?

That's cool, but I still can't beleive all the money and effort people are putting in for a manual gate setup. It's a whole different experience with powered or automated gates.

Wow that price is crazy. And the picture it's shown on is a centurion with quicksurf already on it. I only have about 300 in my system and it's fully adjustable. Only thing is I had to drill holes which I guess most people are scared of.

Wake shaper has an automated one. No drilling required, and it's got a wireless remote. Good luck hearing from them though. Absolute trash for customer service...

Fellow crew members, we felt everyone's pain so after making our own for our 2008 Malibu 23 LSV and 2011 Axis A20 we decided to launch them as a DIY Surf Panel called "SURFSIDE" Panels that clamp on to your swim platform. No drilling, no measuring, no ratchet straps! Just clamp or slide on and go! It also floats!

Several models to choose from. We also have a universal model in the works.

*** Disclaimer, my only affiliation to this company is that the designer and I are good friends and he helped me design one for my 2008 LSV which was the prototype for his production model. I say we in my post because I have been helping him build them and get the word out. If my post violates the "Terms of Use" on the forums please let me know. Is there an automated aftermarket system available somewhere?

Well, the only difficult part of an automated system is the controller. And Martin archer has us covered on that with his GPS based "wake logic" controller. Plenty of recipes for the gates.

I'm just saying this because I started with manual gates, then powered, then automated with a controller. It's a no brainer in the same way perfect pass is -- once you've used it.

Just trying to encourage more to try it. Not to take away from the cool manual gates popping up either.

It is pretty crazy how many of these aftermarket surf gate companies there are in Minnesota... let alone within 10 miles of each other on Lake Minnetonka... We must get bored during the winter

I wouldn't say bored, I would say committed to the search for the best wave with the boats we are currently invested in. I'm not a player for a $110,000.00 boat every few years technology changes. Plus, we are all getting older and this sport is so much less impact to our aging bodies!

Anyone know what that WaveFX costs? I am all about the manual set up right now, I don't plan to keep my current boat long enough to justify the investment. I like the Wake Shaper too since it is collapsible & works on either side. Anyone try to the WakeShaper yet?
