T23 Vibration

I have a 2015 T23 with a PCM Crusader 350. A very evident vibration can be heard and felt when the boat is running in neutral or at a very low speed (throttle just engaged). It goes away instantly when speed is increased.

It is coming from the back of the boat and when I put my hand on the surf pipe its vibrating pretty hard. I took it back to the dealer and once in the Fake Lake it did vibrate but not as much as it seemed to in an actual lake. The dealer told me that its normal with the PCM engine with the single exhaust port when the exhaust dumps with no load on it and can be felt more due to the surf pipe. Sounds like a reasonable answer but wanted to see if others have the same? Tired of people getting in the boat and asking what the heck is wrong with it.

Yea my t22 w/ 350 does the same. I noticed it almost imediately. I brought it to my dealers attention at the first service and they pretty much told me the same thing. It does kinda feel a little rough in my opinion. Curious to see more on this

My '15 T22 with the 350 is the same. I don't know that a would call it rough, more like it grumbles a bit at idle. Then she roars like a lion when you give her the throttle

I have the exact same issues on my Axis T22. My dealer has also told me the same thing regarding the PCM exhaust and single port. I've written a letter to the dealer as I really don't want to live with my noise. It's absolutely terrible. I concerned when I go to sell it no one will want a boat that's vibrating like hell. I can just imagine saying to the buyer...."trust me they all make these types of noises and nothing's wrong". Not going to fly for us. We've tried everything and of course had it back to the dealer. I'm only at 13 hours and really hope they come up with a fix. I'm so disappointed that this is my first wake surf boat and to spend this kind of money with this result. Hope they will figure something out for us.

first, OP says he has "surf pipe" which I assume means he has FAE. Does everyone else with this vibration?

My guess is that its the exhaust floating up to the platform, meeting resistance with some significant velocity because the depth of the FAE. Does everyone notice its worse with any particular weighting/platform angle?

Mind does have the FAE factory installed but they called it a surf pipe. I am sure it is associated with the pipe as well. Tonight when the boat was idling I put my hand at the bottom of the pipe and it was shaking a lot but as I kept grabbing further up and towards the boat, it reduced quite a bit. The engine has no shake or rattle and of course the drive train is not engaged with in neutral and the wedge isn't rattling so I am pretty sure its the pipe. Not all 2015 access have them as they were an option. The new PCM challenger engines have one exhaust port so it could just to much velocity for a single port.

My bet is that its the platform vibrating from the exhaust. I would never have said that but I recently had my direct drive on the trailer on the ramp working on something (so it was at a weird angle) and started it and I thought something was way wrong. Drove it, was fine. Put back on the trailer at that odd angle and it was back. Sure enough, the exhaust was causing the platform to vibrate so bad it was coming through the entire boat. I'd list the boat so the exhauist can escape under the platform easily and see if you still have it. I bet you don't which will mean you're going to find a way to channel the exhaust from under the platform and not trap it.

If its the exhaust or the surf pipe that's not an issue for me, I just needed to make sure it was not that actual boat so all is good. Its honestly the best performing boat for our needs we have ever owned.

Would be my guess as well. Ours does the same thing at the ramp and if I have a bunch of people in the boat. First time it happened I thought it was a loose engine mount or something though!

Shake your platform while on the trailer or lift I bet the sound is similar but not as muffled due to not being in the water.

Sorry to revive an older thread, but maybe this will help. Last week I had the boat at the dealer, and asked them to swap the pins that hold the platform to bolts. It's a lot quieter now. The exhaust causes the swim platform to rattle a bit, and the bolts now hold it steady.
